Tell the inspector what appliance or fireplace is connected, how it is used and whether changes are planned. Bring previous inspection reports and any installation paperwork. Do not use a system that a professional has identified as unsafe.
Ask for the evidence
Request photographs or video findings where available and an explanation of their significance. Clarify what could and could not be inspected before agreeing that a liner repair or replacement is necessary.
Compare complete scopes
Ask about appliance compatibility, required approvals, access, connections, commissioning and documentation. A quote for a liner material alone is not the same as a completed compatible installation.
Before approval
Confirm the provider's relevant qualifications and who will verify that the finished system is suitable for the connected appliance.
